Jean Tobin is a Certified Teacher of the Transcendental Meditation technique, serving Long Island, New York and Connecticut. Since 1987, she has personally guided close to 1,000 individuals through the simple, natural process of learning TM.
Her Journey with TM
Jean began her own practice of the Transcendental Meditation technique at age 19 — a turning point that shaped the rest of her life. The clarity, deep rest, and inner peace she experienced were so profound that she felt called to share TM with others.
From August 1975 through August 1976, Jean had the rare honor of working directly for Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and his international organization. That period of immersive service deepened her understanding of the technique and the wisdom tradition behind it — knowledge she has carried into every teaching session in the decades since.
"To teach TM is to offer someone a doorway into their own inner stillness. Every student who walks through that door touches something timeless within themselves."
Her Approach
Jean's teaching style is warm, patient, and grounded. She believes that learning TM should feel welcoming and unhurried — never clinical or rushed. Whether you're a busy professional, a parent, a student, or someone simply searching for a proven way to reduce stress and feel more like yourself again, Jean meets you exactly where you are.
What Students Often Notice

- A patient, no-pressure approach — there are no questions too small or simple

Where She Teaches
Jean serves both Long Island, New York and Connecticut, offering in-person courses as well as Zoom sessions for students who prefer to learn from the comfort of home. She also offers free introductory talks — a no-obligation conversation where you can learn what TM is, ask any questions, and decide whether it feels right for you.
"There's no pressure, no commitment to the intro talk. It's simply an honest conversation about what TM is, and whether it's a good fit for your life right now."
